How To Make Your Own Low Carb Club Sandwich Bake
Without crescent rolls or puff pastry, you may be wondering how you can make such a dish keto friendly?
That’s easy! We use fat head dough in place of the high carb alternatives.
I like to use the same fat head variation that I do in my keto pigs in a blanket. It’s simple to prepare, lower calorie than most other fat head recipes on the internet, and puffs up nicely to mimic bread.
Simply stuff the prepared dough with a few ounces of chopped deli meat, bacon, cheese, and sugar free honey mustard, pinch it together, and bake.
It’s so stinkin’ simple but sometimes the simple recipes are the best recipes!
How To Serve Your Keto Club Sandwich Puff
As I mentioned before, this keto club sandwich recipe is great for a variety of meals or activities.
You can cut it into small bite sized squares for a party or slice it in sticks for kids’ lunches.
And, it can easily be doubled or tripled if you’re feeding a crowd.
I like to serve my keto club sandwich puffs with a fresh salad, fruit, and some sugar free honey mustard or ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
As much as I love it warm out of the oven, it’s also good served chilled (or room temperature) if you need to make it ahead of time.
All in all, this keto club sandwich is an ideal keto party food!
Ingredients and Substitutions
You may be wondering if deli meat is keto or is sugar free honey mustard hard to find?
The short answer: yes it is and no, it’s not!
Deli meat is great for a ketogenic diet. Just be sure you’re buying no sugar added deli meat and if you’re budget allows, nitrate and nitrite free. It’s easier than you may think, just read your labels and avoid unnecessary ingredients!
I really like the Boar’s Head and Applegate brands but you can always check your local deli counter for options that may be relative to where you live as deli meat brands can often be a regional item.
Costco and Trader Joe’s also carry high quality deli meats in their pre-packaged section.
As for sugar free honey mustard, I highly recommend the G. Hughe’s brand. It tastes delicious, is easy to find at most stores, and is affordable. Of course, you could swap the honey mustard with some of my homemade sugar free chick-fil-a sauce and it would be just as yummy!
